SandeshApp is private messaging for people you already know. Open it at sandeshapp.in, sign in with your phone, and chat without the noise of a public social network. New here? Follow the steps below. Prefer quick answers? See the FAQ.

1. Get started

  1. Go to https://sandeshapp.in in your browser (Chrome or Safari work well on phones).
  2. Enter your phone number and country code, then request an SMS verification code.
  3. Enter the code to sign in.
  4. Choose a display name and optional profile photo so friends recognize you.

Tip: On Android or iPhone, add SandeshApp to your Home Screen for a full-screen app feel and better notifications.

2. Start conversations

Find someone on Sandesh

  • Tap New chat and search by phone number.
  • Or open Your circle — people you have saved whose numbers already match Sandesh accounts.

Invite someone who is not on Sandesh yet

  • Open Profile and share your invite link, QR code, or SMS invite.
  • When they join with the link, you are connected automatically so you can say hi.

3. Messaging basics

  • Text — type and send; tap a message for reply, star, forward, copy, or remind me.
  • Photos, files & voice notes — use the attach / mic controls in the composer.
  • Sandesh Pad — shared workspace in a chat for notes, checklists, links, and plans (great for family or work threads).
  • Disappearing messages — set a timer (including 1 minute) from the chat menu so new messages auto-expire.
  • Mute, archive, labels — keep important threads organized without clutter.

4. Voice & video calls

  • Open a chat and tap the phone or video icon.
  • Allow microphone (and camera for video) when prompted.
  • Group calls are available when enabled for your group.
  • Missed calls appear in chat history and under Profile → Call history.

5. Groups

  • Create a group, add people from your circle, set a name and photo.
  • Admins can manage members and group details.
  • Use Sandesh Pad inside the group for shared checklists and plans.

6. Privacy & notifications

  • Privacy — control last seen, read receipts, find-by-phone, and circle-only messaging.
  • Quiet hours — mute overnight or mute Work labels on weekends.
  • Push notifications — enable in Profile → App settings (Home Screen app recommended on mobile).
  • Reached safely — one-tap check-in with your location for family chats.
  • UPI request — ask for an amount; the other person can open their UPI app.
  • Festival greetings — ready Diwali, Holi, Eid, and more Hinglish wishes.
  • Sounds & haptics — subtle send/receive feedback; distinct call ring.
  • Sign out — Profile → App settings → Sign out (asks for confirmation).

7. Stay in control

  • Block someone from their chat or profile actions if needed.
  • Export a chat from the menu if you want a text backup.
  • Delete your account anytime — see Delete account.
