What is SandeshApp?
SandeshApp is a private messaging app for family, friends, and small circles. You sign in with your phone number at sandeshapp.in, then chat, share media, and place voice or video calls — without public feeds or ads.
Where do I open SandeshApp?
Use https://sandeshapp.in in your browser. On a phone, you can also add it to your Home Screen for an app-like experience and better notifications.
Is SandeshApp free?
Yes. Creating an account and messaging on SandeshApp is free. Standard SMS rates from your mobile carrier may apply when you receive the one-time verification code.
How do I create an account?
Open sandeshapp.in, enter your phone number, verify the SMS code, then set your display name (and optional photo). That is your account — no email password required.
How do I invite friends who are not on Sandesh yet?
Open Profile and share your personal invite link, QR code, or SMS invite. When they join through your link, you are connected so you can start chatting.
Who can message me?
People who have your number (if find-by-phone is on) or who use your invite link. You can turn on Circle only in Privacy so only people you added to your circle can start new chats.
Why am I not getting notifications?
Enable Push notifications in Profile → App settings and allow permission when asked. On iPhone, add SandeshApp to the Home Screen first. On Android, the installed Home Screen app delivers background alerts more reliably than a regular Chrome tab. Also check Quiet hours and per-chat mute.
Can I make voice and video calls?
Yes. Open a chat and tap the phone or video icon. Allow microphone (and camera for video). Incoming calls ring in the app with a distinct call sound.
What is Sandesh Pad?
Sandesh Pad is a shared workspace inside a chat — notes, a pinned checklist, shared links, and plans for that conversation. Both (or all) participants can edit it. It is meant for family and work coordination without turning Sandesh into Slack.
How do disappearing messages work?
In a chat menu, choose Disappearing messages and pick a timer (including 1 minute, 24 hours, 7 days, or 30 days). New messages in that chat expire after the timer. Turning it off stops new messages from auto-expiring.
Is my data private?
Messages are delivered to chat participants over HTTPS. We do not sell your personal information. You control privacy settings such as last seen, read receipts, and discoverability. Read the full Privacy Policy for details.
How do I delete my account?
In the app: Profile → Delete account, type DELETE, and confirm. Or follow the steps on the Delete account page. Deletion removes your profile and related personal data as described there.
Does SandeshApp work on desktop and mobile?
Yes. sandeshapp.in works in modern mobile and desktop browsers. Mobile Home Screen install gives the best notification experience.
